Previous Coaching Experience/Achievements
A former goalkeeper at Hamline University, Griggs rejoins college soccer for his first season as an NCAA coach. His most recent years were spent on staff at Richmond Strikers where he was responsible for developing youth goalkeepers of all ages consistent with the vision of goalkeeping director Celia Mosier - to whom he credits much professional and personal growth. While with Strikers he also was an assistant coach of multiple u13 - u16 teams that competed in and won tournaments across the state of Virginia. In addition to being a regular face at Own The Goal camps, Griggs coached the keepers of UPSL Division 1 team LOKO FC.
Playing Experience/Achievements
As a result of time spent with Stan Anderson's Camp Shutout and Eric Wiberg's Wisconsin Goalkeeper School, Griggs became an FRCC All Conference goalkeeper in 2013 and 2014 for Green Bay West High School. A 3 year varsity starter and captain, he finished 5th, 1st and 2nd in the state of Wisconsin for number of saves made with 224, 287 and 331 respectively - setting a school record of 26 saves against Cedarburg in 2014. Griggs played club soccer for United Soccer of Allouez and Green Bay Lightning before making 4 appearances in goal at Hamline University in his two seasons ('15 & '16) with the team.He is a member of the Player Development Project and holds a Grassroots license from the USSF, as well as a Level 3 Goalkeeping Diploma from United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA).
